The Jeanne Stein Irregular
Hi—welcome to the second issue of the Jeanne Stein Irregular.
I asked readers last time what they would like to see included and I got some very good suggestions! In fact, thanks to Kris Bochum (and friend) who were particularly helpful in giving me some ideas. I’m going to go through them one at a time and try to address them all if not in this issue, in future issues for sure.
One thing Kris mentioned was that I should include in the newsletter dates for appearances, signings, etc because people don’t always have time to search the website. I have a pretty inclusive list of conferences for this year and here it is:
March 6 - 8, 2008
Left Coast Crime Denver, CO
April 15-20, 2008
Romantic Times Pittsburgh, PA
July 24 - 27, 2008
Conestoga Con Tulsa, OK
August 6 - 10, 2008 Denvention -
World Science Fiction Convention Denver, CO
August 29 - Sept 1, 2008
Dragon Con Atlanta, GA
September 12 - 14, 2008
Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers Colorado Gold Denver, CO
It’s not completely finalized, but pretty close. Conestoga Con should be particularly fun because there is an entire day set aside for Urban Fantasy.
On Sunday, April 27th, I’ll be the guest author in The Writers Chat Room. Log in is at 7 pm EST. Stop by and say hello or ask a question.

I also thought you might be interested in reading interviews done by readers and/or other authors. Well, actually, my friend and critique partner, Sandy Maren, thought insights into the real Jeanne Stein might be in order. She even suggested I should share that I wanted to be a cop (and should have been) and that I’ve always been a cop junkie. Okay, I did. Now let’s get to the first interview done by Aussie Tez Miller who asked some very unique questions. My thanks to her for allowing me to share (and remember if there’s a burning question you want to ask—do it!)

Now for some personal stuff—The German edition of The Becoming will be released soon. Here’s the cover. I’m having a hard time getting a good translation of the title…I know it’s something of the night. A set of book cover magnets to the reader who can translate that first word for me!!
A trade paperback edition of Many Bloody Returns comes out in February 2009, a large Print edition in March (next month.)
I’ve turned in the fourth Anna Strong book, Legacy, and I think we’re on track for September. I’m working on the fifth book as we speak. I’ve turned in proposals for the next two as well as that book on Sophie, the star of MBR’s The Witch and the Wicked. No word yet on whether it’s a go. Keep your fingers crossed.
To end this issue, here are some pictures taken at the Denver launch of The Watchers. Bookstore owners Ron and Nina Else of Who Else Books at the Denver Book Mall hosted and we had a record-breaking crowd!
Please keep in touch--
Jeanne
